The recent storm that rocked this peninsula was a legitimate test of preparedness. The town was quick to respond to storm damage and crews were quickly out clearing debris. Well done.

Also, thanks to Peter Forman, head of the PW-Manhasset Office of Emergency Mgmt. The North Shore Alert system worked extraordinarily well. I encourage all residents to sign up for these emergency communications at www.NorthShoreAlert.org. This storm is a reminder of how very useful this information can be. You choose how you want to receive communication, email, text, and/or phone. It is well worth the effort.
