Alexander Palm, born in Tallinn, Estonia on Dec. 2, 1915, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT. He and his wife Edith resided in Manorhaven for 46 years before retiring to Vermont. Mr. Palm was employed by Helena Rubinstein Cosmetics Manufacturing in New York. He was very fond of animals and especially enjoyed cats.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith (Pfahl) Palm and daughter Peggy Palm of Vermont. He was predeceased by his son Axel Sven Palm in 2001 and by his brother Kurt Palm in 2010. He is also survived by sister-in-law Hilde Palm of Berlin, Germany; niece Vivian (and husband Flip) Halufska, their sons Stephen (and wife Christine) Halufska and Nicholas Halufska, of Port Washington; and nephew Ronny (and wife Dawn) Palm of Warsaw, Poland, and their son Douglas and daughter Becky.
A memorial service was held on May 25 in Vermont. Contributions in memory of Mr. Palm may be made to any animal charity or shelter.
