Louis Chollet, age 93 of Appleridge at Bethany Village and formerly a longtime resident of Port Washington, passed away Feb. 26, 2010. Lou was born Sept. 16, 1916 in New York City, the son of the late Octave Louis Chollet and Leonie Condou Darracq. He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia S. Chollet in 2008. His surviving family includes his sons, Gary (Bonnie) Chollet of Elmira, NY, and Ray (Barb Wright) Chollet of Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law Sue Chollet of Peterborough, NH; grandchildren, Chris Chollet, Becky Chollet, Michelle (Marc) Spar, Danielle (Jack Unrue) Chollet, Marc Chollet, Derek (Heather Hostetter) Chollet, Cadi (Mike) Thyne, Porter Chollet, Eric Wright; great-grandchildren, Morgan Spar, Lucas Chollet Hostetter, Sam, Jack and Annie Thyne. In addition to his wife and parents, Lou was also predeceased by his oldest son Richard Chollet, sister Henriette Louise Clementine Gionciotta; half brothers, George and Robert Condou Darracq.
He was the owner and operator of Greenfields, a long established luncheonette in Port Washington. After his retirement he also ran several food service establishments including, NY Tech and Friends Academy on Long Island. He was a Merchant Marine and veteran of WWII.
