Ida Ioanna, of Port Washington, died peacefully on Oct. 16, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 37 years Leo Ioanna; her three children, Grace Bischoff (Tim) of Port Washington, Anthony (Kristine) of New Hyde Park and Robert (Restituta) of Port Washington. Ida was born the sixth of seven children in Gesualdo, a small town in southern Italy on Jan. 21, 1941. Ida was affectionately given the nickname Pupetta. She moved to Port Washington after she and Leo were married in 1972 and lived here ever since. Ida was a member of Our Lady Fatima Church and sang in the choir. She was a proud member of the Columbiettes. She worked in the Port Washington school district at Guggenheim as an educational assistant for the kindergarten classes for 16 years. She loved to sing, cook and spend time with her family. She will be sorely missed, fondly remembered and will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
