Margaret Edwards Keller, a 15-year resident of Easton, MD, died peacefully on Jan. 18, 2012, following a brief illness at Memorial Hospital in Easton.
Beloved daughter of Lillian D. and Howard A. Meyers, Margaret was born in New York City in 1939. Blessed with the gift for making friends easily, which came from her deep Irish roots, she has left a host of family and friends to mourn her loss and celebrate her exuding beauty, grace, laughter and charm wherever she went.Following her mother’s remarriage, she was raised by Lillian and William Edwards. The couple made their home on Circle Drive in Plandome Manor. Following her graduation from Paul D. Schreiber High School, Margaret attended Endicott College before her marriage to Howland G. Keller in 1960. They raised two sons, William and John, in Devon, PA, where the couple lived until 1986. A devoted mother, she shepherded her boys through the ranks of school and Boy Scouts. No one was more proud as they graduated from high school, college and later, graduate school with her support and blessing.
Margaret was an adventurous and willing spirit, and anyone who knew her knew that she was game for anything. A world traveler with exquisite taste, she relished experiencing the sights, sounds and people in every part of the globe. Later, living in Connecticut and Virginia, she created homes and gardens that reflected her appreciation for art and beauty of every culture.
Most recently, Margaret resided in Parkview and became a member of the Elks in Easton. Always one to live life to the fullest, there were joyous days she spent surrounded by many dear friends and visits from her sons and granddaughter. Margaret leaves these friends and family to treasure her memory, along with her immediate family, Will and his wife Beth Pfohl of Bratenahl, OH, John and Melanie Culp of Chestertown, MD, and John’s cherished daughter who has been her heart and the light of her life for the last 10 years, Olivia Grace Keller. The family plans a celebration of Margaret’s life at a date to be announced.
