Obituary: Lisa Marie Villard

Lisa Marie Villard, 54, of Frederick, MD, formerly of Port Washington, died at her home on Nov. 3, 2011, after her battle with cancer. In her end days she was surrounded by family and close friends. Lisa was born July 22, 1957 in Port Washington, a daughter of the late Arthur Edward and Jean Walton Villard.

Lisa graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College in 1979. She often said some of her happiest days were spent there. After graduating from college, she spent most of her working career in human resources. She held the position of director at her last job.

Surviving is her sister Amy Villard Martin and husband William Craig Martin, her nieces, Heather Lea Martin and Demi Jaccard Martin, and a great-nephew Trent Paul Martin, all of Frederick.

Lisa loved life, was well traveled, she enjoyed alumnae activities at the Mount; she was always up for a party or a Happy Hour and she was loved by many. Although no one loved her more than her two closest friends, who where by her side through this difficult time, Patty Suraci and Lydia Miller.

Lisa was at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick, where the family received friends from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, November 6.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 7 at the St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, Buckeystown, MD, with Rev. Fr. Lawrence K. Frazier as the celebrant. Interment in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers the family asked that a donation be made in Lisa’s name to the FMH Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, 501 West 7th St., Suite #2, Frederick, MD 21701 or to d=17577.
