The Pride in Port event is a quarter century old this year, and still going strong. The community-wide, day-long celebration kicks off with a parade along upper Main Street to Schreiber High School. Edna Turner of Twin Pines of Port Washington Community Food Cooperative & Charitable Thrift Shop is the grand marshal of this year’s Pride in Port parade.
The football game begins at 1:30 p.m. versus Great Neck South and the Hall of Fame induction takes place at half time. Other Pride in Port events include Family Fun Day, a luncheon for seniors, and the Community Dinner Dance. There are many generous sponsors who keep this celebration going year in and year out.
Mostly it’s about the community coming together, residents of all ages and interests. The parade, as well as the football game, promises thrills, and the community dinner dance will provide a wonderful way of capping the day off.
More information about the events is featured in the special supplement contained within.
