Café Music, the Friday night music series at the Dolphin Bookshop, will showcase a diverse line up of new and returning musicians this month. The series began on Friday, June 7, with songwriters Nikki Talley and Rupert Wates, performing in Port Washington for the first time. Talley performs Americana and Folk music with her husband. Based in North Carolina, she was excited to include Dolphin in her northeast tour. Wates is an award winning songwriter who also made his Dolphin debut.
June 14 marks the first anniversary of the music series. Series founder Solomon Hoffman presents an eclectic evening of Classical, Jazz, Musical Theater, and New Compositions featuring many series regulars, including flutists Caroline Sonett, violinist Elizabeth Sun, and vocalists Olivia Harris and Rebekah Lowin. Paul Avolese’s group, Dijon and the Day After will perform a mix of rock covers and original on June 21. The evening will also include a performance by jazz and funk duo Adam Tuch and Noah Milstein, both students at Schreiber High School. June 28 features the local duo, Shir Harmony, presenting a mix of liturgical music and contemporary Jewish songs.
