Nassau County Police reported an attempted bank robbery at TD Bank, located at 475 Port Washington Boulevard, on Friday, Feb. 22. While the would-be robber did not take off with any money, detectives are investigating this incident and requesting information from the public.
According to Nassau detectives, the attempted bank robbery occurred at 6:45 p.m., when a white male entered the bank, passed a demand note to the teller, and threatened the use of a gun. Detectives noted that no weapon was seen, and the subject ran away on foot in an unknown direction without any proceeds.
At the time of the incident, there were four employees at the bank. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses described the suspect as being six feet tall, of medium build and about 25 years old. They noted that he was wearing a black ski mask and brown jacket.
