There are three village elections in Port Washington this March. While Flower Hill will have a contested election, Port Washington North and Baxter Estates will have uncontested elections.
Three positions for village trustee, each for a two-year term, are open in the Village of Flower Hill. Incumbent Tab Hauser, who is also deputy mayor, is running for re-election, along with fellow incumbent trustee Robert McNamara. They are both members of the Flower Hill Party. Eileen Mills, also of the Flower Hill Party, is running for trustee, as well as Roy Nelson of the Civic Party.
Mayor Fred Nicholson is running for re-election in the Village of Baxter Estates. Also seeking re-election in this village are incumbent trustees Nora Haagenson and Charles Comer, who is deputy mayor. All positions are for two-year terms.
In the Village of Port Washington North, Mayor Robert Weitzner is seeking re-election. Incumbents Michael Schenkler and Sherman Scheff are running for re-election as village trustees, as well. All positions are for two-year terms.
The three village elections take place on Tuesday, March 19, from noon to 9 p.m., at each respective village hall. The Flower Hill Village Hall is located at One Bonnie Heights Road in Manhasset. The Baxter Estates Village Hall is located at 315 Main Street in Port Washington. The Port Washington North Village Hall is located within Stop & Shop Plaza at 71 Old Shore Road in Port Washington.
