Nassau County Police said that TeAirra Bunn, a 24-year-old woman from Port Washington, was killed in a collision with a drunk driver on September 2.
According to police, TeAirra Bunn was driving her BMW at 8:30 p.m. when Kevin Allen of Freeport crashed his Suburban into her car at the intersection of North Main Street and Woodside Avenue in Freeport. Bunn was pronounced dead at the scene and Bunn’s cousin, a 15-year-old boy who was a passenger in her car, suffered an arm injury, police said. Allen had a lower-leg injury, and police stated that he was taken to a hospital.
Nassau Police said that Allen was charged with first-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed driving and possession of stolen property.
An obituary for TeAirra Bunn is included in this week’s issue of Port Washington News, and a memorial has been set up in Bunn’s honor near the intersection where she died.
