Grease at Landmark on Main Street Harbor Musical Theater Company, the musical theater division within Port Washington Play Troupe, will present GREASE at the Landmark on Main Street’s Jeanne Rimsky Theater (232 Main Street). The production will feature a twist: adult actors (ages 30+) will play all the parts as the characters revisit their youth at Rydell High’s 25th-year Reunion, performing the original book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Community Chest Golf and Tennis Outing

The Community Chest of Port Washington invites all to participate in its golf and tennis outing at the Village Club of Sands Point. The event includes a golf shotgun/scramble tournament and round robin tennis. To participate in the Community Chest outing, complete a registration form, available at www.portchest.org, and submit it, along with the entry fee. Fees are $190 for golf, and $90 for tennis, including breakfast and lunch. For those only joining for lunch, the BBQ buffet lunch is $50. Breakfast gets underway at 8 a.m., with 9 a.m. start for golf and 10 a.m. start for tennis, followed by a 1:30 p.m. BBQ buffet lunch, awards and raffles. In addition the Community Chest invites members of the community to sponsor the event and to donate raffle prizes. All proceeds will go to the Community Chest of Port Washington and the 25 non-profit organizations that receive grant funding. To help you file for or learn more about the property tax exemptions you may be eligible for, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, in cooperation with Legislator Wayne Wink, has arranged to bring Department of Assessment office operations to the Port Washington Public Library on Wednesday, July 31 from 1 – 3 p.m. Equipped with specially configured computers linked to the county’s database, Department of Assessment staff will process property tax exemption applications (Veterans, Senior Citizen, Cold War Veterans, Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers, Limited Income Disability, and Home Improvement) on-site.
