This year's festival, Oct. 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., features apples, handmade country crafts, seasonable produce, grilled bratwurst, children's activities and more. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the deaf, the Mill Neck Family of Organizations and its services. There will be a Cheese House, baked goods, jellies, fudge and strudels. The Country Store features a full-line of Karl Ehmer wurst and bacon products. The "Gourmet Shop" offers fine snacks and sparkling apple cider. In the children's activities area, Gooseberry Grove will have a fantastic array of games, including an inflatable slide. Musicians Michele Purcell and Barbara Fine Buxbaum will perform. Facepainting by Agostino Arts on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The festival also showcases the latest in deaf technology, sign language novelty items and books, a hearing van featuring free hearing screenings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $10 each and the winner, picked on Oct. 12 at 3 pm, receives half of all money collected. Proceeds go towards supporting the Mill Neck Family of Organizations. The Nassau North Shore Christian Women's Club invites all women to its "Harvest Country Fair" Luncheon on Nov. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the George Washington Manor Restaurant. Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn. The cost is $17. The special feature will be "Prize Winning Wares." Bring a bounty of fresh-bakes goods, crafts and new gifts to sell beginning at 11 a.m.
