For Schreiber athletes, spring break does not mean sunny beaches in the Bahamas or Florida sun but rather life as usual on the playing fields.....and usual for the baseball teams mean winning and winning some more...varsity baseball continued their undefeated ways winning 3 games last week and upping their league record to 6-0. With only one playoff spot coming out of their league, every game is a big game. Next big one is on the 23rd against second place Valley Stream Central....JV baseball is on a 7-game winning streak having defeated GN South last week by scores of 4-2 and 6-4. The team is now 8-3. Boys Lax suffered their first defeat of the season 11-10 to Massapequa with a shot in the final seconds...the team beat Freeport in the beginning of the week by a score of 14-5 and then beat North Shore 14-9 with 8 different scorers contributing....the team is 6-1 overall...Boys volleyball was recognized in Newsday with a full page article on the team...Newsday touts them as the team to beat in Nassau County (a fact we knew coming into the season)...good luck as the competition heats up...Finally, the oldest track meet in the country is our own Port Invitational. Beginning its 92nd year, the "Invite" is next Thursday and Friday on our track...boys and girls teams will be competing so check it out....see you around... Logo
