The Board of Commissioners of the Port Washington Water District read with interest Steven Schlussel's letter to the editor dated April 2, 2009 in the Port News.
As Mr. Schlussel will remember the Port Washington Water District, as of Jan. 1, 1989, resolved to undertake at no expense to the property owner, to repair and/or replace when required as determined by the superintendent of the district, all residential water service lines from the district's main in the street to the curb stop, as well as replacement or installation of the curb stop itself.
Nothing has changed with regard to this practice.
Thomas J. Murray, Jr., Chairman
Board of Commissioners
Port Washington Water District
