I would like to bring to your attention a proposed service change to the Port Washington Line.

Normally my morning LIRR commute from Port Washington is uneventful but last week I picked up a public notice flier left on the seat. What I read was upsetting and disappointing... not only will the fare increase but the frequency of service will dramatically change for off peak (including weekends) from half hourly to hourly. As you might recall, just a few years ago the LIRR touted how great we are by expanding the service on the Port Line. All I can say is the LIRR giveth and LIRR taketh away!

I don't get it? Send an e-mail to the LIRR and ask them to explain to the Northern Queens and LI commuters how much in real savings will occur by this cutback? Maybe with enough complaints the LIRR will be persuaded to rescind this change.
