Recently I've been going to Port's varsity basketball games. They're exciting, well-attended, there's a lot of fan enthusiasm, and the team is leading their conference. So I wonder why the back page of the paper really hasn't represented the school and the area, not just in this sport, but in others as well. Both boys and girls teams at the various schools in Port, at varsity and non-varsity levels, across all sports seasons get very Little ink. A couple of weeks ago, one of our milers ran fifth in The Millrose Games - the world-class indoor track meet at Madison Square Garden.
Perhaps there are people associated with the high school paper that you could network with to provide more coverage. Maybe there are others in the school system that could act as liaison in order to furnish you with news. It would be very rewarding to have a sports page that features our kids and their teams to complement the current sports news that's fit to print.
