It was a good week for Schreiber sports...starting with the first-place boys basketball team who raised their league record to 7-0 and overall record to 9-2...The team made it look easy against Plainview JFK 52-43 at home and then won a thriller on the road at Massapequa 54-48 in the final minute...That game is going to be telecast on Telecare this Sunday at 11 a.m....just in case, check Newsday's listings over the weekend to be sure...Girls basketball is hovering around the .500 mark with a big win against Valley Stream Central 53-34. Next girls game this Friday at 6 p.m. vs. second-place Carey...girls gymnastics scored an impressive victory over Garden City 132.7-116.85. The seasons have ended for the boys and girls bowling teams... Nice job on a good season, Port....and finally, the best game of the week had to be the boys JV2 basketball team, an incredibly exciting overtime victory over Massapequa.
