In order to close projected budget gaps, the MTA has proposed a number of actions including reducing weekday off-peak and weekend service on the Port Washington Branch from half-hourly to hourly. As someone who often travels into Manhattan on the weekend, I don't understand this proposal since the trains always seem to have many passengers.

For those commuters who use these off-peak trains and don't relish an hour-long wait for the next one, I suggest that they contact the MTA through its website: www.mta.info.
