Track standout Marco Bertolotti made Schreiber track history by qualifying for the prestigious Millrose Mile after a stellar qualifying race at the Hispanic Games.
At last weekend's Hispanic Games competition at the NYC Armory. Bertolotti, a junior, was seeded 11th in the 12-runner race of senior milers. All milers in the race had run faster times than Marco's to date. In a race for the ages, Marco came from behind in the final 100 meters to kick start his way past 5 runners to win the race finishing in a personal best time of 4:15.4. Yes, 4 minutes and 15 seconds! Marco's time qualifies him for the prestigious Millrose Games. The 102nd running of the Millrose Mile will be on January 30th at Madison Square Garden. Marco will compete with some of the fastest runners in the country.
We, at Schreiber High School know what a special runner Marco is and now the rest of the country can share our pride.
