Marie Elizabeth Golden (Eaton) was born May 30, 1915 and died on Dec. 25, 2008. Marie was born in Port Washington, raised her family in Port Washington and now has passed having lived her entire life within this town. She is survived by her son William Pedersen of Winter Springs, FL; her son Thomas Golden of Port Washington; her daughter Wendy Golden of Fort Pierce, FL; and her sister Jeanette Kimmerly of Searsport, ME. She has six surviving grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews, who will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her husband Walter (Tucker) Golden; her brothers, William and Theodore Eaton; daughter Diane Zwirlein and grandchildren, Dina and Holly Zwirlein.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 29 at St. Peter of Alcantara Church followed by internment at Nassau Knowles Cemetery.
Madelyn H. "Sally" Seiler was born on Jan. 20, 1924 in Newark, NJ. She was educated at Benedictine Academy and Georgian Court College. A pupil of noted tennis coach Mercer Beasley, she was ranked nationally as a junior and played on the Wightman Cup Team representing the US. She worked as a reporter for the Newark Star Ledger and married Carl L. "Bob" Seiler on April 12, 1945. They moved to the North Shore of Long Island where she raised her family, worked in real estate and maintained passionate interests in politics, tennis and the arts.
In 1994 she moved to Merritt Island, FL, where she was predeceased in 2004 by her husband Bob. She died peacefully on Dec. 6, 2008 in Merritt Island. Her survivors include her son Mark; her daughters, Amy and Carolyn; Carolyn's husband Greg Hehir and daughter Christy; her son Scott; his daughters, Katherine and Evelyn Seiler; and their mother Theresa.
Services are to be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Cocoa, FL on Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. Donations in Sally's memory can be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or The Fund for Animals.
