Timothy D. Spry, of Annapolis, MD, and Doylestown, PA, died peacefully Nov. 30, 2008, in the company of his wife Patti, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tim was born on June 13, 1951 in Port Washington, the son of Frances Dell and Thomas Spry. He was a graduate of Paul Schreiber High School, Hobart College and the graduate school at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University.
A scrupulous and charismatic businessman, Tim built a successful 30-year career in the lumber industry, founding and operating his own company, Old Bay Hardwoods. He was an avid sports fan, a lover of golf and biking and an excellent athlete who played soccer well into his 50s.
Tim's passion for life was marked by his diverse interests in politics, foreign languages, photography, travel, and wine making. He was a lover of all animals and always had a labrador retriever, or two, at his side.
A beloved father and husband, Tim is survived by his wife Patti, their two children Michael and Krista, their daughter-in-law, Susannah, and most recently, a tremendous joy in his last year, his granddaughter, Elise. In addition, he is survived by a large extended family, many nieces and nephews and a dear contingent of longstanding, loyal friends.
He had a giving spirit and a big personality, always appreciating life's little moments through laughter and the company of loved ones. Tim's genuine love and devotion to his wife, family, and friends touched our hearts and inspired us all. He will be remembered and missed by many.
