Opinion

On Oct. 16, at Manorhaven's regular monthly board meeting, the board voted unanimously in favor of repealing the controversial "Enterprise Waterside Zone District (E-2)." This bad piece of legislation was introduced and passed by the previous administration. In design, it would specifically benefit four landowners with absolutely no benefits for the residents of Manorhaven or Port Washington.

Manorhaven residents were against it from the start, but the old administration didn't want to hear them. So, last June you (the residents) voted them out of office. Then you came to the new administration with your concerns...You spoke, you spoke out loud and this new board listened with open ears. It has been a battle that lasted for over a year and I'm glad it's over.

What's next? Is there a new issue on the horizon? Will it be the building of 12, two-family homes between Ashwood and Sands Point Road on the cliff? Come to the meetings and find out before it's too late! Next meeting is at 7 p.m. on Dec. 18.
