While many of our teams have completed their seasons....some are still running, kicking and swinging their way towards county and state glory.....the boys cross country team continues to astound, advancing to the state championships. This year, Long Island is the site and Sunken Meadow State Park is the place....take a ride out east on Saturday and literally cheer the boys on....There was plenty of cheering from the Schreiber faithful last Sunday as Mitchell Field was the host of the boys soccer semi- finals...the Vikings were superior to the Sailors as Port defeated Oceanside less than 2 minutes into the first overtime....thanks to all those who came out to bring our boys the victory...great job with the sportsmanship, Port!... tennis is still swinging and on Nov. 4 will try for back-to-back Long Island championships....the girls volleyball team was impressive in its 3-0 knockout of Macarthur in the first round of the playoffs. A quarterfinal loss to East Meadow ended its season but not before showing some outstanding play...and finally the football team finished its season honoring 27 (!) seniors as they played their last game...... Winter sports around the corner. Weber starts Nov. 10...Schreiber starts on the 17th for some, 19 for all....see you next week.... Logo
