Judith A. Valentine, 64, a long time resident of Port Washington, died on Sept. 30, 2008 in Palm Harbor, FL. A devoted wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, their husbands and three grandchildren. Judy was a remarkable woman who enjoyed many interests and hobbies. Truly a warm, loving person, loved not only by her family, but by many friends. Stan Gottlieb

Stan Gottlieb, of Port Washington, died peacefully on Sept. 25, 2008. Mr. Gottlieb was born in Manhattan and grew up in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Before his graduation from New York University, Mr. Gottlieb attended Lincoln High School in Brooklyn and served with the army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. In 1953, he married Nina (Vogel) and lived with his family in Forest Hills, Queens, before moving to Port Washington in 1967. Mr. Gottlieb was a writer and award-winning editor of numerous trade magazines. He was also a longtime jazz drummer. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nina; children Linda Lombroso (Eytan) and Lawrence (Leslie); brother Gerry; and grandchildren David, Daria, Daniel (Lombroso) and Dylan, Zachary, Renna (Gottlieb). Services were held Sept. 28 at Sunset Chapels in Manhasset.
