George Roe, age 83, of Oviedo, FL, passed away on Aug. 9, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol. George and Carol moved from Port Washington to Oviedo in 1990. George served three years in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was an executive with Trans World Airlines for 34 years and with Hilton International for eight years. He is survived by son Kenneth (Mary); daughters, Lorraine Roe, Kathleen Silva (Alan) and Sharon Caputo (Jay); and five grandchildren.
John M. Viggiani, of Port Washington, died on Sept. 7, 2008. He was past Grand Knight of the John MacKay Council (#2310) and former District Warden of the Knights of Columbus. Husband of Alma. Father of Judy Gibaldi (Rocco). Grandfather of Christopher and David Gibaldi. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Vincent Terranova, father of MaryAnn Malinoski, Laura Thoden, Annette Lewis and Diana Hostetter, passed away on Sept. 13, 2008. Born in Sicily, Italy, he moved as a child to New York with his family.Vincent married Antoinette Caprioli on May 3, 1938, who preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2005 at the age of 90. He designed and built for her their dream home in Port Washington, in which he raised four daughters. In addition to his daughters, he is survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Vincent is also survived by his three sisters, Rose Caprioli, Martha Citelli, and Mary Musto. A gathering to celebrate his life was held Sept. 16 and 17 at the Austin F. Knowles, Funeral Home. A private burial service for the family was held at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
