Congratulations to Port Washington's own Jeff Froccaro for taking home the Gold Medal at the 2008 New York State Empire Games. After a grueling tryout process that included over 1,000 players from Nassau and Suffolk County, Jeff was chosen as 1 of only 20 players to represent the Long Island region in Binghamton this past July. The Empire State Games showcase the very best lacrosse players from the 6 regions of the state against each other in a weeklong tournament that decides bragging rights for the following year. Long Island played extremely well winning all five games in pool play and went on to dominate 14-3 in the gold medal game against the central region, making them the first team to win 6 games at the Empire State Games.
Jeff Froccaro's other lacrosse accomplishments include being named 2008 All-American finalist, 2X All-Nassau County Selection, 3X Most Valuable Player Award Winner at Schreiber High School and most recently, being named by Inside Lacrosse magazine as one of the nations top 50 lacrosse players. Jeff is looking forward to playing his senior year at Schreiber High School and beyond in college.
