Where are the florists, bakers, merchants, etc. who descend on the town dock every June, when contributions are asked on a daily basis throughout the year to our own Port Washington florists, grocers, merchants from every charitable organization in the vicinity?

Over the years, I have knocked on many doors requesting donations for different fundraising events and am always delighted at the generosity and warmth I receive from the aforementioned.

I believe the old adage, "charity begins at home" applies here, as well as an appreciation for providing our town with good food, beautiful flowers and plants and great attitude.
