Henry Francis Bartkowski, 82, died on May 6, 2008 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, NH. He was born on Jan. 19, 1926 in Port Washington to Walter and Bernice Bartkowski. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in WWII. Following the war, he was employed as a telephone installer for New York Telephone.

Mr. Bartkowski married Mary "Pat" Lockwood on Aug. 16, 1947. Together, they moved from Port Washington to North Haverhill, NH, in 1983. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Woodsville, NH, and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Relay League.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Borkowski, Eleanor Halufska and Frederick and John Bartkowski. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Bartkowski of North Haverhill; two sisters, Gladys Pryzewski of New Hyde Park and Helen Walsh of New Port Richey, FL; and his brother Albert Bartkowski also of New Port Richey; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Patrick's RC Church. Burial Holy Rood Cemetery.
