Barbara Gunta

Barbara Gunta, 81, resident of Marco Island, passed away on Dec. 31. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 5, 1926 to Joseph and Rose Marzullo. She resided in Port Washington for many years and moved to Marco Island in 1991. To everyone who knew her, Barbara was a loving, giving and warm person. She spent her free time volunteering at Tommy Barfield Elementary. She loved being with and helping children.

She is survived by her loving family, her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Giovanna. She was devoted to her two cherished grandchildren, Michela Marie and Joseph of Port Washington. She is also survived by her brother, Guy Marzullo of Valley Stream, and sisters, Pat Jordan of Brooklyn and Ann Monico of Coral Springs, FL.

Barbara will be missed by her extended family, Catherine, Steve, Steven and Katelyn Profaca.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Gunta, and her daughter, Donna Marie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Barbara's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
