Ryder was one of the three finalists for the "Dragon Award" given to the outstanding receiver in Nassau County. The Vikings had a very successful year with a 5-3 record and reached the playoffs for the second year in a row.
At the conclusion of the season, during the team's "end of the year dinner," the coaching staff presented team awards. The Coaches Awards went to James Lopilato, Chris Ryder and Steve Kaufman. Zack Ross won the Most Improved Player, Unsung Hero was awarded to Larry Baglio and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) was co-captain Ryan Castro. Each player on both the varsity and junior varsity was presented with a 2007 highlights DVD. Coach Case thanked the 13 graduating seniors for their effort, dedication and leadership this year and expects the 2008 team to carry on the winning ways.
The team would like to thank the Football Booster Club, especially Anne Marie Kaufman and Lisa and Brian Calenda for their extraordinary efforts for making this year memorable.
