At first glance, this looks like a good deal. But then I see that Nassau County residents still get to use the facility.

So how do I, as a Town of North Hempstead resident, benefit?

I see that my tax dollars have gone to Nassau County to acquire the property.

I see that my tax dollars are going to improve the property.

I see that my tax dollars are going to maintain the property.

But Nassau residents still get to use the property? For free.

Smells like one politician scratching another politician's back using our money.

Why did they wait until after the election to make this announcement?

Because they hoped it would blow over before the next election.

When will the politicians represent our interests and not their own?

I await the official response to see the cost to the town vs. the benefits to the residents.
