After a courageous fight of many years, Louie J Welborne 65, died on Oct. 31, 2007, in peace surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Cathie Nofi (formally from Port Washington), father of Brian, Karen, Jonathan, Johanna (Palasek), Melissa (Michael) Hickerson and loving "Nonno" of Josie Belle, brother of James (Beverly) and numerous nieces and nephews. He spent many happy days in Port Washington with his family and especially loved watching the sunset at the Town Dock. He lived with unbounded energy and joy and fought his disease with courage and character and taught all who knew him how precious life is. "Carpe diem."
