Halloween Curfew Law Repealed
Effective November 1, 2007, the Village of Port Washington North's 20-year-old curfew law is repealed. The board of trustees at a regular meeting on Oct. 22 voted unanimously. But the meeting was far from "regular" with news cameras and reporters from Channel 12, 1010 WINS and HD 2. WCBS 880 covered the story.

League of Women Voters Hears Proposal to Reform Electoral College
At a recent meeting of the Port Washington-Manhasset League of Women Voters (LWV), Richard Finn, the New York representative for the Compact for a National Popular Vote, laid out a proposal that would reform the Electoral College without an amendment to the constitution and guarantee that the winner of the popular vote became president.

The 7th ranked Raiders QB Harrison Bergman tried desperately to keep his punter Dan McEntee off the field, but to no avail. The "Raid" offense kept banging into the steel curtain "D" re-enforced by Kyle Oliveri, Chris Halleran and Noah Linder. Post game Steelers-Ryan D'Amico quipped, "..sure we're happy with the result, has anyone shut down Dylan Livingston or Tucker Quinn ?"

On The Bay
At the annual meeting of US Sailing on Oct. 24-28 in Phoenix, AZ, Ralf Steitz, a member of Manhasset Bay YC and director of Offshore Sailing at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, won the Timothea Larr Award, US Sailing's highest training honor.
