Salem Elementary School students can now welcome the colors of the rainbow to their asphalt play area. The addition of stenciled festively painted hopscotch boards, long ball court, four-square courts, hit the stick courts and the map of the United States allows the students to play with a wide array of new games. The front lawn just south of King Kullen on Shore Road looks more like a wild meadow recently, but the Village of Port Washington North Mayor Bob Weitzner is in negotiations to purchase the land and restore it as a lawn for the public.
