Silently, we've been subjected to the intolerable noise emitting from the heavy traffic of low-flying, commuter-sized, helicopters since the fall of 2006 and now we must make some noise ourselves!
In the Port Washington North vicinity from early morning through late evening hours our homes are vibrating, while conversation and sleep are disrupted. It's a frightening thought that their flight paths are also over two elementary schools in the area. They appear to be traveling to and from the East/West (MacArthur/LGA airports?). Why not pass over our nearby waters at a higher altitude? Where is the F.A.A.?
Our patience, along with that of our neighbors, has worn thin. Letters have been written to: Town of NH Supervisor, Jon Kaiman; Councilman Fred L. Pollack; Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi; Legislator Wayne Wink Jr.; NY State Senior Craig Johnson; Gary L. Ackerman and U.S. Senator Charles Schumer in hopes of one of our elected officials taking an earnest interest in bringing us to a speedy end to this disruptive annoyance we've been newly subjected to. Time will tell if our politicians actually listen and act in the interest of their voters to bring back the quality of suburban life we rightfully deserve. Ooooh, there goes yet another one overhead!
