Richard R. "Woodie" Wood, 70, passed away on June 24, 2007. He was a life long resident of Port Washington and a 51-year member of the Port Washington Fire Department-Protection Engine Company #1. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Irene, his three children, Scott (Annemarie McNamara), Catherine, Glen (Kristina Shackel) and his granddaughter, Kara Elizabeth. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. He was waked at Protection Engine Company #1. Interment Nassau Knowles Cemetery.
