As the two-hour graduation ceremony ended, Principal Jay Lewis told graduates to move their tassels to the other side and hats went flying into the air as in years past. But some of the graduation speakers noted a few differences with the class of 2007 as compared to other years.

On Tuesday evening, June 12, a group of Port Washington residents attended a presentation in the Hagedorn meeting room of the library to hear a firsthand account of the September 11 tragedy by Lt. William Keegan as described in his recently released book Closure.

The team consisted of fifth, sixth and seventh graders and they finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. They advanced through the playoffs, then the championship and finished with an impressive 11-3. The manager was Joe Alagna and the coach Jeff Smith.
