Let's face facts - we depend on our cars for work, shopping, dining out, running errands, etc. The parking problem has impacted everyone in our community. Let's not stick our heads in the ground and do nothing. There is a serious parking problem in Port and it will only get worse if we don't accept the fact that we need to build a garage to reduce stress for both commuters and shoppers. Let's not be hypocrites - if you want to live in a nice thriving community then we need to take risks and think outside of the box. For instance, if we build a garage that can create significant space for Parking, then maybe we can restrict curbside parking on Main Street and you know what, we can then create a bike lane. Be creative! Look around the town and you see new construction is everywhere and this means more people and cars! So build the garage already. I am tired of the NIMBYs! I do expect to pay an increase in local taxes but in the long run it will be worth it.
