Jay Lewis, principal of Paul D. Schreiber High School, announced recently that the following 20 students have been named Commended Students in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program, the highest number ever from the school. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors:

About 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students place among the top 5 percent of more than 1.4 million students who entered the 2007 competition by taking the 2005 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Schreiber High School is particularly proud of this group of distinguished students. The Class of 2007 has produced the greatest number of commended students in the history of the school - 20. This follows 18 last year for the Class of 2006.
Dr. Geoffrey N.
