  • Sports: On The Bay

It's that time of year again - time to get you and your boat over to Manhasset Bay YC for their Annual Fall Series, Oct. 14-15, and Oct. 21-22. This will be the 28th series which was started by John B. Thomson, Jr. who wanted to develop a high level big boat competition offering the joys of fall sailing on western Long Island Sound to its participants. As serious sailors all know, the best sailing is in the fall when the winds are up and the sailing is great. It's not too late to register for the event. The Fall Series is open to all owners and charterers of single-hull boats who are members of the YRA of LIS (Yacht Racing Association of Long Island Sound) or a US SAILING recognized club or association. There is an online entry form (www.manhassetbayyc.org) with a NOR (Notice of Race) online also. The scratch sheet as of Monday, Oct. 9 shows a great group of excellent competitors, so you won't want to miss this exciting event. For more information, contact Sue Miller, MBYC Fall Series Chair, by phone 767-2150, fax 767-2076, or email her at FallSeries@manhassetbayyc.org. FULL STORY
