As all of the Port Washington residents know, our library contributes so much to the virtues of living in this town. Despite higher gas prices and increases in our food bills, the library's only increase is in its services.
I read in a recent Letter to the Editor about contract differences currently being faced between the library board and its employees. I was unaware of this situation and disappointed to hear about it. Our employees are still the soul of the library and rate the total support of all of us. Whatever is necessary should be done to help resolve these differences. We have too fine a library staff to have anything interfere with their spirit, enthusiasm and dedication. Let's keep our library as its own beacon of enlightenment.
