Impressive 'Meet the Author' Session at Library
The Friends of the Library, who sponsored Dave King's visit on June 23 to the library at 12:10 p.m, and the full-house audience, couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience. Jessica Ley, who arranges many of the adult programs, said the author spoke "with aplomb and panache." But the audience is to be credited with asking stimulating and thoughtful questions. PYA Little League Championship Game
On Tuesday night, June 13, PYA held its championship game at their fabulous new baseball fields. The game was a match up of two of the top 11/12-year-old teams that competed in PYA's Spring League. Credit-Suisse, managed by Anthony Orso , and J. Gunnar Investments, managed by Joe Duarte, sponsored the two teams. At least 100 proud parents and excited fans of both teams attended. Led by a strong pitching staff consisting of Stephen Orso and Patrick Boyle, Credit-Suisse was able to hold off the monster hitters of J. Gunnars team allowing only two hits a game. Credit-Suisse's timely offense was led by Michael Orso and Patrick Boyle. With all kinds of exciting plays executed, either team could have taken the game at many different times.
