I would like to thank the nearly 7,000 people who made it to the polls on May 16 to exercise their right to vote. Regardless of how you voted, I applaud your dedication and commitment to the democratic process. The 4,085 people who voted yes for the budget demonstrated that we are becoming a more united community and that we value good education at a fair price. I am humbled by the support that the community has shown in re-electing me to the board of education. I will do my best to continue to work for improvements in the system for all students and taxpayers.
I could not have won, nor could have the budget passed, without the help of a lot of dedicated, talented, creative, and hard working people. Thank you all. I have the best team in town, and am so proud to call you friends.
To Dean Nardone, I will miss your passion, dedication and insights. It was great working with you, and I hope that our friendship will continue. Our loss is your family's gain. To Pat Foye, welcome aboard. I look forward to getting to know you better and working together.
To Peter Forman and Roger Lifson, you worked tirelessly in your campaign and kept me on my toes. I thank you for your dedication to our community. I hope that you will continue to be involved.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to vote, and worked so hard for the good of Port Washington.
