A marvelous new emporium has opened on the site of the Trunz market. Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, at 364 Port Washington Boulevard, recently held its grand opening celebration.

Community Organic Gardens Supply Food and Valuable Experiences
Over 200 years ago the Dodge brothers farmed this peninsula. One brother lived near Hempstead Harbor, north of the county park, but his house has been replaced. Thomas Dodge, the other brother, owned the Dodge House, acquired and restored by the Cow Neck Historical Society. It still stands just east of Mill Pond, which borders Shore Road.

On the Bay
Our frostbiters are finally getting in some sailing on Manhasset Bay. This past Sunday, April 2, was a warm sunny day with some wind that brought out six Ideal 18s and 5 IC dinghy teams. The temperatures were in the mid-50s range, the wind was 8-10 knots so the racers were a happy group. After racing, the teams gathered at the Manhasset Bay YC Junior Sailing Club rather than go inside as is the custom. On such a beautiful spring day, no one wanted to leave the waterfront.
