Coach Klaff

Nassau County held its annual awards dinner for the cross-country teams on Dec. 7 at the Crest Hollow Country Club. The evening's program not only honored and recognized outstanding student-athletes, but honored outstanding coaching. Eleven members of Schreiber's Cross Country co-ed team received awards. This past season was the best ever for Port as they went undefeated and won their division title. Section VIII of Nassau County took notice of how Port made such tremendous strides and honored their coach, Jeremy Klaff, with "Outstanding Achievement in Coaching Award." No other cross-country team improved as much as Port did over the past year.

Coach Klaff modestly said, "A coach is as good as the team's runners. This award is a testimonial to my team. We had a fantastic season." Veteran team member Richard Schmitz said, "I know I speak for the entire team when I say, Coach Klaff is an excellent coach and the most fun. He is most deserving of this award."
