I am writing in support of Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman. I think that he is an excellent public servant. He was extremely helpful and responsive last year when a group of local residents were in a dispute with the school district about a proposal to build a parking lot, a proposal that was ultimately withdrawn. He was re-elected by a large margin based on his performance in office. He may have made a mistake at the Manhasset tree lighting, but he has apologized for that and even the best of us make a mistake once in awhile. The Manhasset incident should be a reminder to all of us, including Catholics like me, that we should respect each other's beliefs.
