Although I was not at the tree lighting in Manhasset, I heard the disturbing accounts of Jon Kaiman's lack of respect for the Christian faith. I am deeply saddened that someone with so little regard for peoples' beliefs holds such an important position.

His rude behavior is a perfect example to our children on what an adult should not act like. He was clearly intolerant of a faith other than his own.

If he dislikes Christians so much, perhaps in the next election he request that only non-Christian people vote for him. I know that there are many people who have no interest in seeing him in public office in the future and hopefully this number will grow. We don't need a racist running the Town of North Hempstead.

Next year, hopefully he will stay home and leave the Christmas tree lighting to those who truly want to be there.

This voter won't make the same mistake in the future.
