Finishing the season in second place with four shut outs in the last five games, the Port Washington Lightning more than held their own playing in division 1, the most competitive of the Long Island Junior Soccer League. Dominating teams from much larger towns, the Lightning have become one of the best teams on Long Island for their age group. The team is comprised of keepers Joe Gil and George Racanelli, defenders Brandon Robilotti, Mark Catanzaro, Erik Schroeder, Josh Greenberg, Pierce Wezenaar and Johnny Marks. Midfielders include Ryan Goldstein, Robbie Grabher, Ebube Abara, Scott Bergman and Diego Lopez. Finally our strikers include Stephan Brossard, Brennan Spreitzer and Joe Barrett. The coaching staff consists of Phil Schools and Peter Wezenaar.
The team will play in some competitive tournaments during the winter and try their luck again the spring against some very strong competition.
