In the 11 years that I have worked for the Port Washington Board of Education, I have met so many wonderful students and families. These special people share the common qualities of warmth, friendship and concern for their fellow man. It is to these families and so many other Port Washington residents that I direct my appeal for help in resolving a contract for teachers this year.
Teaching is not a profession that ends when the students or teachers go home. Whether at home or in the classroom, we are constantly thinking about and planning the lessons needed to educate all our students to teach their highest level of mastery. Teachers are hardworking, dedicated people who go beyond what is asked of them.
It is with utmost respect and concern that I ask you to appeal to your families and neighbors to do all they can to let the board of education know how important it is to show that same respect to our teachers and provide them with a contract as soon as possible.
I sincerely thank you for your assistance.
